| To protect the intellectual property of electronic resources, maintain the reputation of NPU, and ensure the legitimate rights of many legitimate users, the library requires all users to respect and observe the intellectual property regulations.
(1)Do not download large electronic resources purchased by the library.
(2) Do not download, browse and retrieve databases continuously, systematically, intensively and massively. Because different database developers have different definitions of the term “abuse”, the library is unable to establish uniform standards. To most database developers’, “abuse” means downloading at a speed higher than normal reading speed. Normally, it takes at least several minutes for a reader to read a document.
(3) These resources are only for the use of those associate with this university. Do not provide people from other universities with the documents you obtained from the library. Do not share your personal network account numbers with those from other universities to use this university’s electronic resources. It is unlawful to utilize documents obtained from this library to make illegal money.
(4) No person is allowed to use an agent server to read or download electronic resources. If there is a special need for installing an agent server, an organization inside the university must obtain the prior permission from the library.
(5) If the above rules are violated, the library will assist the university’s authorities in investigating the violation. Violations will be handled in the following way:
A. The accused violator will be summoned to the library and be presented with the evidence against them. Their response to this investigation should then be submitted to the library and a public reprimand will be made to the entire university.
B. The guilty party will have no rights to borrow books for 6 months.
C. The guilty party will have their university Internet account number frozen for two months.
If the violation is very serious, the guilty party will be reported to the university and receive disciplinary punishment. The violator will be responsible for all legal consequences incurred thereof.
Readers are requested to assist the university in reporting to the library the violations by telephone or by e-mail.
